The Ames Haugh Unit Micrometer is a precision instrument for checking albumen height of eggs.  It has a two-part dial, which permits you to read out directly in Haugh Unit Values for broken out eggs.

Specifications:

• NIST traceable factory calibration
• Dial face has two parts.  The inner face is fixed.  The outer face is adjustable by turning the knurled rim of the dial indicator.
• Inner face has three segmented scales printed in black & reading :
  OZ/DOZ   (top of dial)
  OZ/EGG  (lower right of dial)
  GRAMS/EGG (lower left of dial)
• Outer face has two scales.  One printed in red reads in tenths of a millimeter.  The other printed in black reads in Haugh Units.
• The indicating hand follows the movement of the micrometer spindle as it is raised or lowered by turning the knurled knob at the top of the indicator.
